This blog will be used to summaries all lesson that I will be learning in the Project Management module through out the First Semester in the Finaly year
Expectations of this Module
The expectations of going through this module is to have a proper understanding of how to manage a project which is a key factor in any industry related to Software engineering and computing. Furthermore after the module is completed the student is expected to be thorough in four learning outcomes
- Drawing a charter for a project according to proper standards and procedures.
- Organizing and resourcing a project.
- Analyzing, planing and managing a project.
- Discriminating and critically evaluating techniques used to improve the success of a project.
My knowledge on Project Management
The knowledge i have gathered on project management is based on the modules i have gone through related to managing a project during the last couple of years of the course and the projects, assignments and examinations related to it. I am able to plan a project step by step, evaluate the risks and opportunities available, use various project management tools , estimate project costs etc.. with the aid of my prior knowledge on project management
How will this be applicable in the future enterprise
As a computing undergraduate project management is a required skill in the any area of professional expertise that i am going to be engaged in. As per the knowledge i have learned 80% of the projects fail due to lack of proper management. hence as per my understanding a thorough understanding in project management will be a plus point for be in terms of my career in the IT sector. I will be able to utilise the knowledge i have gained in the projects i am going to be invovled in in order to come up with a successful plan on how they are going to be performed
